Questioning my Introspection
Thursday, October 30, 2008

Good Morning's at 3pm, followed by lunch at 4. My body clock had seemed to shift ever since sembreak started. Whatever happened to sleep definitely being a blessing, contrary to our whines during school days.

So yeah, I'm at the midst of ecstasy not until I learned that school's pretty much nearing again. I only got 3-4 days left for me to relax, to unwind and to seize before being bombarded again by a pretty much heavier task this time, PHC-2. Oh crap. Humor has it, that our batch will be having our community service in Batangas this time. I just don't know how credible that statement was though. Just because it came from Mr. CC himself, doesn't mean its reliable enough to embrace anxiety. But who knows? I really hope Dean B would finally made up her mind regarding such, cause travelling from Cavite to Manila to Cavite and to Manila again (4 travelling in one day), would be frustrating for me cause I won't be staying in a dorm. Seriously, I don't wanna go back to school yet (who wanna by the way?), I'm not ready yet. I'm sure regrets will eventually pop next week as sleep taken for granted's the limelight for 3 weeks already.

Anyway a lot has happened recently and to tell you the truth, I really am not into my blogging hype nowadays. So just for the sake of posting, allow my random thoughts to flow through yours.

Recently, I've been reading my Phil. Lit textbook. Honestly, I've been missing that SOAB professor, Meal. It's really nice having him around. Through him I've enhanced my I heart literature awareness, thank you sir! And through him, oh I must add, the asshole in me rated itself 8 in a scale of 10. Getting a 1.75 from a SOAB like him felt like a privilege to think that most of my classmates got downright low low grades on him, and the highest so far is 1.5 if I'm not mistaken. Not bad, eh? Despite the fact that it's really low (let's face it), it still is something.

Shifting you away from my egotistic ranting, one of my favorites among various we've discussed was the very heartfelt Dead Stars by Paz Marquez Benitez. Another is the very clever Three Rats by Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero. And lastly, Breathe by Alessandra G.L. Gonzales.

"The trick is to keep breathing." He looked at me and smiled with his blue eyes and crooked teeth. I would see his face and sing his favorite Garbage song in my head long after he disappeared into the gale of people catching flights to who-knows-where."

I must tell you that Breathe doesn't really ranked to be one of the best stories I've read so far though, but there's something in it that makes it really special. The story is about two individuals from different sides of the world who've met, just like any other cyberpunks here (including myself, lol), well in the internet. Given two characters of different sex will already give you a clue of a cyberlove relationship, in which they've somehow decided to make it real by meeting each other personally. But just like any other unhappily ever after stories, both wasn't given a chance to continue their love affair due to race and geographical differences despite their love and effort of doing so. As a result, the only option left for them to do is well, just like in the Garbage's song, to keep breathing or to move on and continue living (just in case you still can't get it, no offense).

Regardless of how smooth everything is going; every relationship has its own flaws, they say. The trick is to keep breathing. How it makes me wonder. Will I be humming to the same tune in the end?
